LCIOC News Update...
Tuesday 24th July 2012
Jos Creese, Chair of Local CIO Council, confirmed today that Dylan Roberts has been appointed as a Local Public Services CIO Council representative on the National CIO Council.
Speaking shortly after this announcement was made, Jos commented "I am delighted Dylan is joining John Callan and myself in representing local government on the National CIO Council. Across the public sector local government arguably represents the most diverse and largest user of IT, and often the most innovative. The stronger the representation we have with the National CIO Council the better in helping to develop and to implement national IT strategy and policy. Dylan brings other strengths to the role: he is the IT lead in one of the largest unitary city councils in the UK and already sits on the Local Public Services CIO Council with specific responsibilities for PSN, and is also an active member of Socitm and until recently was the chair of the Socitm Futures group"
Dylan Roberts, Chief ICT Officer, Leeds City Council will be responsible for a number of areas including;
- Representing large cities
- Contributing to creating and delivering a government-wide CIO agenda to support the transformation of government and to build capacity and capability in IT-enabled business change
- Balancing government-wide agendas with accountabilities in city-based local public services organisations
- Special focus on regional/sub-regional implementation of Public Services Networks.
