Benchmarking business value from ICT
A new service from Socitm
Obtaining business value from ICT is something of a holy grail, but measuring it is notoriously difficult.
Supported by the Local CIO Council, Socitm's new service sets out to capture senior decision-makers' perceptions of the contribution and effectiveness of ICT on business outcomes.
Our existing (and highly regarded) benchmarking services examine the cost and quality of ICT services supporting the important 'business as usual' activity. This new service examines the strategic effectiveness of ICT to the organisation (eg in supporting the transformation of its services).
Why important
This provides a fundamental starting point for considering ICT-enabled transformation of services, as envisaged by Planting the Flag. The evidence should point the way to debate about issues of leadership, governance and capability in maximising the potential from ICT investment.
In short, this survey offers CIOs and heads of ICT a unique opportunity to understand how key decision-makers perceive the value that they are getting from ICT. The survey results will provide a sound basis for improving communication and developing realistic, shared expectations about the role and potential of ICT.
What you receive
Participants will receive an individual report, summarising perceptions of value in ICT, in words and graphs and comparing results with those from other, similar, organisations.
When results are ready
From receipt of order it will normally take up to one week to set up the survey and no more than two weeks to run it. Results will be available within two weeks of the end of the survey. Closing date is 31 August 2012
What you pay
The normal charge will be £2,500 for each organisation subscribing to Socitm Insight (£2,950 if not). For just this first series, the service will be offered with a 20% discount at £1,950 (Insight subscribers) or £2,450 (if not). In-house workshops to present the results are available at an extra charge.
