Benchmarking services
Socitm Benchmarking supported by Socitm Insight runs a series of benchmarking services to help ICT managers evaluate how efficiently they are managing their own ICT function, how their performance compares with other local authorities and related public services, and how this contributes to organisational performance.
The main benchmarking service uses the Socitm Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as the basis for comparison. The KPIs, incorporating the Audit Agencies VFM indicators, were created by Socitm to help organisations improve performance in the management of ICT.
This service has been running since 2000. In November 2011 we invited the views of our customers as part of our review of the service. We received 71 responses. We report back answers to key questions from the survey and the actions that arise from the results and from an earlier strategic review workshop in summer 2011.
The Socitm KPIs have been developed over the last thirteen years in light of the changing technological environment, experience and feedback from participants.
Socitm provides a range of benchmarking services:
- Benchmarking the ICT service
- Benchmarking user satisfaction (run by Socitm Insight)
- Benchmarking business value from ICT (new service in 2012 run by Socitm Insight)
- Channel value benchmarking (run by Socitm Insight)

- Finance
