I am particularly honoured to be the Socitm president for 2012-13. I am looking forward to the year.
We live in times where money and more accurately savings are the organisational priorities. This last year has seen our members deliver significant changes to their employers with innovative use of IT and enabling change and transformation. None of this happens without the IT profession delivering. Particularly we are being placed in significant roles to influence with the UK Government via the LCIO and now in a similar vein within Scotland.
I would wish us to evangelise with our message starting now or even tomorrow!
I am a member of Socitm, an IT Professional and I can help you should be our message. IT can help you enable change, IT can make a difference, IT can help you connect to your customers and IT can help you be more efficient. Who could turn this offer down? Who could not get IT?
My main consideration for the coming year will be to get to meet as many of you as I can and to ask the fundamental question - What is it that you want or need from Socitm. How can your society help you as you go about your role in your organisation?
