Socitm Futures advises the NAC and the Socitm Board on policies Socitm should adopt on key issues affecting public sector ICT. In order to inform its development of policies for Socitm, Socitm Futures may commission research, survey members' views and take evidence from key Government and industry stakeholders.

The chair of Socitm Futures is appointed by the NAC, and is currently Glyn Evans, from Birmingham City Council. Support and programme management is provided by Martin Ferguson.

Like the National Advisory Council, Socitm Futures is a representative group whose core membership is drawn from the Socitm regions, DWP (Gov Connect), CESG, Fire, Socitm' vendor community and private advisors.
