Government Connect/PSN

Please see the letter and supporting documentation from the Chief Information Officers for DWP and Department of Health (Joe Harley and Christine Connelly) regarding the successful establishment of secure network connectivity between GCSX and the NHS N3 network.

In summary the letter explains that it is now possible for local authorities to access NHS Spine services via their existing GCSX connection and without the need to install a separate N3 connection. Furthermore, it is also now possible for local authorities to securely access their local NHS partner organisations data via GCSX and for NHS organisations to access local authority data via their existing N3 connections.

Integration of Health and Social Care will be facilitated through the sharing of information and access to systems across the GCSX N3 Interconnect.

Local authorities may provide expressions of interest to Government Connect to obtain support through the process for accessing the service at the earliest opportunity.
