Peter Gallon is a freelance consultant specialising in ICT performance.
He is a non exec Board Director of Socitm and is chair of Socitm Consulting Ltd. He is vice chair of the North East branch of Socitm members. He was Head of ICT at Northumberland County Council, responsible for a section of over 100 IT professionals and a budget of £15m. Peter has over 30 years experience in Local Government beginning his career in Highways and moving through a series of roles and councils before becoming the Head of ICT in 2001. His ICT department was one of the highest performing councils (Socitm benchmarking 2005, 2006 , 2007, 2008 and 2009) in 2006 they won the prestigious 'IT Department of the Year' in the Computing Awards for Excellence.
