Getting and using web content from NHS Choices

This is the first in a series of FREE events around the UK for web managers and editors. The events are presented by NHS Choices supported by Socitm Insight and the Better connected team.

The NHS Choices team, supported by Socitm Insight and the Better connected team, is hosting a series of FREE half day events around the country for local authority web managers and editors.

These will explore content is available from NHS Choices (eg the latest advice on Swine Flu, or where to find a local GP) and how to use this material for the benefit of your website users (there's a range of options including XML feeds, widgets, applications etc).

Eight million people already use NHS Choices every month to find health information and local services and you could be adding some of this content, very easily, to your website.

Representatives from Directgov and Business Link will also be on hand to discuss the increasingly important issue of collaboration with these other central government 'supersites'.

The event runs 10.00am - 2pm (including lunch) at West One, 9-10 Portland Place, London W1B 1PR http://www.devere.co.uk/our-locations/west-one.html

Further dates are available for similar events in York (27 January), Cambridge (10 February), Reading (4 March), Birmingham (10 March), Loughborough (11 March), Blackburn (18 March) and Exeter (24 March). Socitm will be advertising further information about venues for these events soon and they will appear in the events listing on this site.
