G-cloud briefing
This early evening briefing will update delegates on cloud computing and G-Cloud, the backbone of the Government’s ICT strategy.
This is an essential topic for Socitm members and others working in and in conjunction with the public sector. Cloud computing has the potential to enable massive savings in ICT costs, although it is not an instant panacea at this point in time.
On the other hand, the outgoing government predicated £3.2 billion of savings on its future use, and a further £500 million on another component of the brand - the Government Appliction Store (G-AS). There is strong drive behind the programme, and Socitm Insight believes that it will reshape the delivery of ICT services over the medium term. However the Government ICT Strategy evolves in the future, it is inconceivable that cloud computing will not figure prominently.
This event is suitable for all public sector organisations and suppliers.
