The public sector is living with austerity, and will probably continue to do so for the rest of the decade.
For the ICT service this has a double impact: it must drastically reduce its own costs whilst simultaneously providing the resources for front-line and other support services to make their own savings.
Our twin benchmarking services, on the one hand looking at service economy and efficiency, and, on the other, effectiveness measured through user satisfaction, show that ICT managers are coping well with adversity, but there are several signs of trouble ahead.
