...What We’ve Launched, Why, and How to Use It. A presentation by Roger Clarkson, given at the Socitm members' event at the GC Expo 12 June 2007.
Each year, Socitm organises a members' event as part of the programme at GC Expo. This year's topic is the Business Improvement Package, a developing initiative from the Department for Communities that brings together successful components of local authority transformation and customer service projects.
The material presented is by Roger Clarkson who is National Advisor, Local Government Transformation & Efficiency, at the Department for Communities & Local Government. Socitm's new President, Rose Crozier, will be in the chair.
The Business Improvement Package links with national and regional sources of support and capacity building to provide:
- Practical resources, developed and tested by local government;
- Support for local authorities to get a clear understanding of their businesses including processes, transaction costs and customer preferences - with a view to improving them;
- Help in exploiting the opportunities from partnership working and shared service delivery;
- Means to share ideas and learning
